Growing Connections

Urban Roots have been awarded a grant from the Scottish Government’s Climate Challenge Fund to run a low carbon food project.  Growing Connections will develop a thriving food growing space at Polmadie Plots and create strong links with local community food initiatives.  Using workshops, volunteering and social events, people will be encouraged to take simple but effective action to reduce carbon footprints in their daily lives.

Activties:

Grow Your Own Food courses

Climate friendly cookery workshops

Weekly community gardening group

Composting hubs

Allotment beds for local residents
